Chocolate Chip Cookies

Tips for making Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Measure all ingredients correctly. Use kitchen scale.
- Get everything ready before baking.
- Use good quality chocolate like Valrhona
- Do not skip sea salt flakes.
- Do not overbake cookies. They will be very dry.
- Get kids or other family member involved in baking process and make it fun.
Ingredients needed for this recipe
- Unsalted butter. Salted butter will alos work for this recipe
- White granulated sugar
- Light brown sugar
- Egg room temperature
- All-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Baking soda
- Chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate. I used Valrhona Caraibe 66% dark chocolate.
- Sea salt
How to make Chocolate Chip Cookies
Preheat oven to 375F. Line 2 baking pans with parchment paper and set aside.
In the mixing bowl add flour, baking soda, baking powder. Use whisk to combine. Set aside.
In separate mixing bowl add unsalted butter room temperature, granulated white sugar and brown sugar. Using pedal attachment beat until pale and smooth. About 2-3 minutes. After that add egg and beat until combine.
Sift in dry ingredients and mix until combine.
Add chocolate chips or chopped chocolate and mix well.
Roll 2-3 tablespoon (depending on how large you like cookies) of dough at a time into balls and place them on prepared cookie sheets. This recipe makes 10 big cookies. You can use ice cream scoop to make balls. Add more chocolate chips on top of cookies (optional).
Bake cookies in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes.
Once baked and cookies are still warm, top with chopped chocolate.
Tip from Marina: Use large cookie cutter to wiggle around each cookie to give it a round shape.
Sprinkle flakes of sea salt on top of the cookies. Let cookies to sit on the baking pan for a few minutes. Then remove cookies to cooling rack.
How to store cookies
Store cookies in airtight container for 2-3 days. You can also freeze cookies in Ziploc bag for a few months.

- 1 egg room temperature
- 180 gr all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 100 gr chocolate chip or chopped dark chocolate
- 3 Tablespoon sea salt flakes
