One dough Holiday Cookie Box
December is the month when everyone bakes cookies. Delicious cookies can lift your mood and make you smile. Baking cookies is perfect activity for your kids. I love to bake cookies and I love to give them to my neighbors and to my friends. I think homemade gift always have a very warming message to the receiver. What if I tell you that with this recipe of one simple dough you can make 6 (yes, SIX) different types of cookies. In fact, I call this recipe – “no stress recipe”. The last thing you need during this Holiday time of the year is adding more stress. One dough Holiday cookie box is exactly what you need.

Ingredients to make cookie dough
- unsalted butter room temperature
- powdered sugar sifted
- eggs room temperature
- all-purpose flour
- different chocolate and toppings to decorate cookies
How to make the main dough for cookies
In a mixing bowl beat softened butter until light and fluffy. Slowly mix in powdered sugar.
Add eggs in 2-3 times, mix well after each addition. Add all-purpose flour Mix well until combine.
Divide dough into 6 parts (about 390 gr- 400 gr each part).
How to make Pistachio cookies
To the main dough add:
60 gr Pistachio flour and 40 gr all-purpose flour. Mix well.
Tip from Marina: You can make pistachio flour in the food processor or Thermomix.
Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min. Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes. I’ve decorated with Opalys Valrhona White Chocolate and chopped pistachios.
How to make Hazelnut cookies
To the main dough add:
- 40 gr hazelnut flour
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
Mix well. Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min. Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes. I’ve decorated with Azelia Valrhona milk chocolate.
How to make Chocolate cookies
To the main dough add:
- Add 40 gr all-purpose flour
- 40 gr Valrhona cocoa powder
- 20 gr powdered sugar
Mix well. Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min. Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes. To decorate these chocolate cookies I used Strawberry Inspiration Valrhona Chocolate and Valrhona Dark Chocolate Pearls.
How to make Lemon cookies
To the main dough add:
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
- Zest of one lemon
Mix well. Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min. Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes. These lemon cookies I decorated with Yuzy Inspiration Valrhona Chocolate.
How to make Linzer cookies
To the main dough add:
- 70 gr almond flour
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
Mix well. Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min. Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes.
To assemble Linzer cookies: first, sift powdered sugar over the top of cookies with the hole. Then, put some of your favorite jam into center of the second cookie. Last, top with powdered cookie.
How to make Coconut cookies
To the main dough add:
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
- 10 gr shredded dry coconut (unsweetened)
Mix well. Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min. Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes.
To assemble coconut cookies: put melted white chocolate ( I used Opalys Valrhona white chocolate) into center of the cookie without hole. Top with the cookie that has the hole and fill that hole with the shredded coconut.
Tips from Marina: Put the cutout cookies on the baking tray and keep in the fridge for 15-20 min before baking. When you bake cookies, try to bake same sized cookies on one tray to avoid uneven baking.
This recipe is just for inspiration, be creative on your own decoration. Possibilities are endless. Make it fun, get your kids and family involved.

How to store cookies
Store cookies in airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. You can freeze cookies in freeze-safe container or bag for up to 3 months.

The main dough
- 8 sticks unsalted butter ( 905gr) room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 egg yolk
- 1060 gr all-purpose flour
- 350 gr powdered sugar
Pistachio cookies
- 1 part main dough
- 60 gr pistachio flour or grain pistachio
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
Hazelnut cookies
- 1 part main dough
- 40 gr hazelnut flour or grain hazelnuts
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
Chocolate cookie
- 1 part main dough
- 40 gr Valrhona cocoa powder
- 20 gr powdered sugar
Lemon cookies
- 1 part main dough
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
- zest of one lemon
Linzer cookies
- 1 part main dough
- 70 gr almond flour
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
Coconut cookies
- 1 part main dough
- 40 gr all-purpose flour
- 10 gr shredded coconut unsweetened
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl beat softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Slowly mix in powdered sugar.
- Add eggs in 2-3 times, mix well after each addition.
- Add all-purpose flour.
- Mix well until combine.
- Divide dough into 6 parts (about 390 gr- 400 gr each part)
- Add extra ingridients to each part of main dough.
- Roll dough between 2 parchment papers and let cool in the fridge for 30-40 min (or overnight).
- Use cookies cutters to cut out your favorite shapes.
- Put the cutout cookies on the baking tray and keep in fridge for 15-20 min before baking.
- Bake at 350F for 7-8 min.
- Decorate and pack into boxes.
