How to Make This Recipe

  • Make macarons batter: I used my basic French Meringue macarons recipe.
  • Divide and color batter: you can also make multiple batches with one color.
  • Pipe flower: shaped macarons.
  • Fill macarons: you can any of your favorites, like caramel or buttercream.
  • Add finishing touches: use sprinkles, edible gold, or edible markers

How to Pipe Flowers Macarons

First, download and print the template.

Then, place the template under the baking mat after that, prepare macaron batter and transfer it into a piping bag with a round pipping tip. I am recommending using the Wilton 10 pipping tip. Pipe flowers, as you see down below. You need to start pipping with one circle and then move the tip to the center while still squeezing the piping bag.

Repeat with all circles. You can pipe different colors of batter into the center if you want to make sunflower or daisy-looking flowers. When you pipe macarons, you need to bake macarons. After baking, you need to let the macaron shells cool completely on the baking mat. And only after that, fill with your favorite filling.

Tip from Marina: use a toothpick to help the batter settle in the shape of the flowers.

How to Assemble Macarons

Prepare your favorite macaron filling. Use buttercream, caramel, or ganache. I have many recipes for the fillings on my blog. When you have macaron shells and filling ready, transfer the filling into a piping bag with a round piping tip or other. I used Wilton 10 pipping tip. Pipe filling on the flat side of the flower. After that, top it with another flower-looking macaron shell. When you have all macarons filled, place them into an airtight container to mature in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.

Yes, you can freeze macarons for up to 6 months. Defrost macarons throughout the refrigerator in the same container as you were freezing them for a few hours or overnight.
